Thanks again for the warm welcome...
IT'S ON! The paperwork checked out for the 5th gen h22a8 model and I am going to be looking at the car this Saturday! Awww yeahhh!
That being said, can anybody point me to a buyers guide on what to look for when viewing a 'lude to buy? If not has any one got any tips?
I tried searching but I couldn't find a guide of sorts... Not for common faults and things to check.
Cheers!!

There is a geek guide here, but it's not really a buyers guide. (And unfortunately some of the images are no longer showing?!)

My starter for ten (I'm not a 5th gen expert);

My starter for ten (I'm not a 5th gen expert);
- Rear arches - check for corrosion
Metal fuel lines at the back of the car (filler and delivery lines around the rear arch area) - check for corrosion
Starting problem or cutting out while driving - could be the ignition switch (there was a recall)
Check the ABS and 4WS lights come on when you turn on the ignition and go out a short while after then engine has been started - no lights mean someone has probably removed the bulb to hide something. Refit the bulb and do a fault code test. Normally just something easy that a garage has scared the owner about.
Rear brakes - check the discs have even wear and aren't pitted, also check the handbrake works properly and the travel isn't excessive. If there are any problems, it's a common thing and not difficult to sort, but will cost you a couple hundred pounds so take that into account when buying the car
I assume this is a manual? If not... Check the operation of the autobox very carefully, colour of the autobox fluid and service history to say when it has been changed
Cam and balance belts, check when they were last changed

Cheers wurlycorner, apart from the obvious when looking at a new car, you have pointed out some good stuff for the 5th gen prelude. Yes it is a manual so I don't need to worry about the dreaded autobox. Rust shouldn't be too much of a problem due to it being a spainish car. I'm checking out the link now.
I'll let you all know how I get on Saturday.
EDIT: I've been through Merlins guide a few times already. It's great for info on the car but as you said it is not really a buyers guide.
