If you watch further on in the video, it replays everything from earlier.
The first truck guy stopped because the car on the right hand side was stopped broken down after running over the tree (that's what all the mess is all over the road, camera side of the tree - I guess it's ripped the sump and rad off).
As to why he'd stopped, I think over there, people generally do stop if they see someone broken down, because the distances between nearest towns are so vast - the selfish 'not my problem mate' attitude in most countries these days, doesn't exist over there.
