Exhaust gaskets/bolts for a Skunk 2 exhaust.

Post by Free Ranj Egg » Mon Oct 24, 2016 6:03 pm

Hi

Does anyone know the best place to get exhaust gaskets and bolts in Birmingham?

Need them for Friday when hopefully my exhaust gets fitted.

Bolts are nothing special, anything the right size will do.
Gasket wise you'll be lucky to fund spare skunk 2 gaskets on the shelf. Your best bet would be to buy a sheet of exhaust gasket material and cut your own to to suit, I would reckon. This kind of stuff:

Failing which, you could always use God awful exhaust gasket sealer on the bare flanges.

I used copper sheet to make my gasket.

Can I use the existing gaskets or is that going to be an issue?

Whats the diameter on a skunk 2 exhaust? Is it 2.25? If so wont any normal 2.25 gaskets work?

The OEM exhaust is 2" and I assume your new exhaust is 2.5".

you could go to exhaust shop and buy gaskets according to your tubing size and bolt hole pattern, which is what I did for greddy evo2 ;)

just generic exhaust gasket that fits your flanges is fine as long as it prevents leaks

Cheers Rob - This exhaust is turning into a nightmare.

Will places like Halfords or Eurocar parts or car spares sell gaskets?

sorry mate, as I don't live in UK, won't be able to answer this, however any decent car parts dealer or exhaust parts shop should have those. just ask for gaskets per size, not per car :)
