The 4th gen was the first car bought in Gran turismo 2. Iconic

It truely is stunning.

The 5th gen is classical and timeless. Modern looking and unique.

Having owned a 3rd gen, 4th gen and 5th gen the 3rd gen was my favourite to drive.

I love them all.

But I own a 5th gen because it has the best compromise of all the preludes.

I've been considering it but I'm not going to do it as my car will definitely be for sale in the coming months

4th > 3rd > 2nd > 1st > 5th

4th is really unique and special. Exterior, interior, everything. I just love it.
3rd is special too, but I don't like sharp edges of ~1990 Hondas.
2nd and 1st are just historically interesting, because they are rare and really old.
5th, I think I need to explain a bit more here. For me it's almost like any other ordinary car. Especially interior, the same like 1997 Nissan Primera, for example, or any other. Nothing special. Rear is quite good, but front is boring and dull. Actually it's not dull with JDM fog lights

There are really good looking 5th gens to me, but because they are tidy and clean. Red top engine is great.

I think it has to be the 3rd for me, in saying that I just love the 4th gen. in the future I hope to fully restore a 3rd gen with a H22. Won't be for awhile sonny then it might be very hard to find one.

4g > 5g > 3G > 1g > 2g for me..

2g looks a little bland in my opinion and nothing about them really stands out to me..
1g has got a cool retro look about it that reminds me of some old Nissan z cars and classic skylines which when dropped on a nice set of period style dished wheels can look very cool..
3G is a step up from there and using the same method of modifying can look very nice, just wish they did an SiR version with VTEC, similar to the CRX and civic of that era, then it may have come above 5th..
5th gen just makes me think of a really nice, fast daily driver especially a black SiR with red carpet (but not red seats) and some subtle mods (HondaHardy's car), but sadly couldn't see it ever making a really mind blowing track ONLY car..
4g is just the best of all together, can be made to look retro, sleek and modern(ish) or just a full on race car and anything in between in my opinion it's the most stand out of the lot and from an era where Honda and Jap cars in general where starting to come into a league of there own that's why it's my favourite...
