Oil inside compression chamber

Post by Danzley0 » Fri Sep 29, 2017 2:56 pm

I need some advice i developed a slight misfire before JAE and have since found out after checking plugs and leads that the bottom of the spark plugs and the contact points in the chamber are covered in oil
I have heard that the FRM cylinder liners are a drok to replace and online it does say when a h series engine hits about 175000 that this will most likely be the problem any advice on where to go next would be appreciated

Are you sure it's not your valve stem oil seals ? As a guess I would say they are a more common part to fail ? But I'm sure someone more knowledgable then me will have a better idea :?

Spark plug seals in the rocker cover leaking? The first thing I would be looking at as they are perishable.

Having spoke to dan earlier today he says the oil is actually inside the chamber not the spark plug to ht lead.

From my type s doing the same I think it's piston ring wear allowing oil to pass by.

I was burning about 1.5 litres per 500-1000 miles but without running issues before I got it rebuilt.

Piston rings or valve stem seals..

I've had a H22A start misfiring due to valve stem seals
However I currently have a H22A with ring issues and it smokes and burns oil (1L in 100kms) but no misfiring at all

If it's missing I'd say it's stem seals

The news is inconclusive as the compression test hasnt been done yet however i am going to do the piston rings upwards anyway just for piece of mind just trying to get the money together to get it done

So i finally have the answer
Compression test is near on perfect and taking my mechanic out in the car he advised change the whole ignition system
Leads plugs distributor cap and rotor arm will have to see if it works but 80 is better than 1200 for parts
