the 5spd swap is the same lhd or rhd drive, our engines and transmissions are on the same side as your engines and transmissions lol.

Only difference would be the clutch line routing since ours gones from lhd to passenger side (Right side) then to the transmission where yours would go straight from right hand to transmission.

Which gearbox exactly? Got any with an LSD?
I have 3 boxes iirc. I think one M2B4 (which is LSD) one M2F5 and not sure on the third... I will have to check. Naturally the M2B4 would be more valuable.
I believe I sold my previous kit of those parts for £125 (excl. the box).

You mean the drive plate cover on the side of the bellhousing? Yep, good point.

:think: believe there's also a strengthener (brace) in that area on a manual now I come to think of it... Is that present on an auto?

When you say you sold the "kit" for 125. Does that just mean the gearset and the diff?

Yes it should be held on by 4 bolts, 2 on the lower block and 2 on transmission if i'm correct.

wurlycorner wrote:, if you're interested, I could supply the following bits from the list;
  • Gearbox
    Gear linkage/shift assembly
    Clutch master cylinder / pipework assembly
    Pedal box
    Flywheel
    Clutch (used)
I meant that lot, minus the gearbox (can do gearbox but extra)

Sounds good wurley corner, you might be hearing from me.

This is looking like it’s quite possible, just as long as I can find a cheap auto with a really good shell and the rest of the car is tip top, then it’s going to work out much cheaper than the equivalent car with a manual from stock
