hmmm
thought everything was ok but driving the car today and there is a strong smell of damp and there is moisture in the passenger footwell under the floor mat:? Ive taken the mat out and put some absorbent crystal down to dry it out.
wonder if this is something to with the aircon and hopefully not the dreaded heater matrix pipes.....
i will need to take it to the garage to have it checked and also get the track rod end replaced - normally i would do these jobs myself but that is out the question at this time of year.

mild weather today so got stuck in :)
( no mechanic required - just time and patience)

checked the heater matrix and pipes where they come into the cabin - good news is they are all ok :D
coolant level is ok - whew!

with the roof liner out the way i was able to check all the sunroof drain tubes and it looks like they were blocked - one of them quite badly  i had cleared the drains exits underneath the car when i first got it but skipped taking the headliner off the check the drains at the top

just to be 100% sure ive covered everything this time i will be checking the seal at the rear washer jet and also testing the front windscreen for leaks ;)

Awesome Nick...that's a fair point I should have flushed mine when I had the liner off for the sunroof, will do it when I shim it down a bit.

Good shout though sounds like a nice easy fix for you.

Another mild December day so got a pressure washer set up to test the front windscreen for leaks at the passenger side and its bad news its leaking at the top corner.
Ive resealed it both sides as temporary measure but im going to have to get a new one fitted.
I have the 5th gen one piece windscreen rubber which i got from rejel just not sure if the windscreen can be taken out and refitted without it breaking or where to get a new windscreen at a reasonable price and fitting if needed. :?

I quite like the ukdm blue tint as it goes well with the phantom grey - might have to go with that to keep costs down :geek:

bit gutted as its probably not something i can fix myself

A windscreen company can remove and refit the front screen, no problem - had it done on all three of my Ludes, for painting.
I've tried twice before myself and failed both occasions (can do the rear screen, but not the front).

ok wurly thats good to know as the front windscreen is in good condition.

id be a bit nervous about getting this done as i had the screen replaced on my BB4 by autoglass and they must have chipped the paint on the surround as it has rusted at the top corners so ideally i want the screen taken out and time allowed for me to touch in any damage to the paint work and also check for rust :?

Go and speak to some local glass fitter places and see what you can suss out. It's local ones that I've used rather than major chains.
