Camshaft lobe dimensions

So I picked up a set of “a7” cams a few weeks back and before I go through the trouble of installing them, I would like to know if they are indeed a7 cams. The last thing I want to do is put the same cams in.

Is there anyway to check other than measuring? And if not does anyone know the measurements? Thanks guys

Ps. If they are the correct cams I have a whole lot more questions on the way, or If I could have a chat with someone who has done it before that’ll be great

My A8 head is disassembled, I can measure in the evening.

Ive checked A1 cam dimensions against A8 cams before but cant remember dimensions - there wasnt a lot of difference in size but they do make quite a difference when fitted.
Im sure there is a part number stamped in between the lobes and this will be the easiest way to check.
nafeman or 4thgenphil will know what the part numbers are
my spare A1 cams are stamped A on the exhaust cam and B on the intake cam

Here the mesurement of the A7 camshaft, that are exactly the same than the 5thgen Prelude Type S, the good values are the "m/t with atts"

As you can see ( and said before by vanzep) the difference between the "normal" camshaft and the "TypeS/ TypeR" camshaft are not very big.

just had a measure up and it looks like i have the good ones not bad for only £41.

i will be looking at doing these in the next 2 months, can someone point me in the right direction for a good head rebuild guide? I've seen the cam swap post but half the pictures are missing. i also got a load of springs with the cams, should i buy new ones or are they okay? i also assume they are a different spring rate to the ones in my a5?

sorry for all the questions, i just dont know a lot about engine work and dont want to get anything wrong. thanks

Sorry to be a pain guys and ask again, I cannot find any information on the spring rates so if some one knows the answer that'll be nice

I want to put a7 cams into my a5, can i straight swap them without changing the valve springs? and if i can't do this is there a difference between springs on the inlet and exhaust side? i wouldn't like to get them mixed up if that's the case.

You can swap just the cams and you'll be fine, and no difference on intake v's exhaust springs.
