Ignition switch for 5th gen
My ignition switch has started acting up, the car has cut out on me previously while driving, but just recently when i try to start it it tends to fire then cut out immediately unless i hold the key in position ii for a second or hold the accelerator. I've had a look and cleaned the switch contacts, but the contacts are obviously worn down so the unit needs replacing really.
Anyone got a known good one knocking about?
Cheers

Would be nice to have a new one, how do we check recalls again? I tried my VIN on the recall page but it just comes back with "You must enter a valid VIN", am I using the right code? BB6-1001160

Hmm tried it here: http://recallsearch4.honda.co.jp/sqs/r0 ... =link.disp
But seems to come back with:
Input car stand number BB 6 - 1001160
All cars with car chassis numbers entered by customers are already recalled.
You can use it with confidence.

Is yours an Import? If so, it won't work on that system because it doesn't have a full VIN (starting JHM...)Max wrote:Would be nice to have a new one, how do we check recalls again? Give the service dept in your nearest dealer a try. They should be able to look it up.
