At My Wit's End
In short: I need a UKDM DC2 front end.
The accident in Trier left us with a damaged bumper and an irreparable n/s headlight.
Once the insurance money came through, I bought what I was told was a DC2 front end. I found it to be identical to the damaged bumper, so bought a DC2 headlamp. It doesn't fit.
DB9 headlights seem impossible to find in Europe, so the easiest way forward is now to buy a proper DC2 bumper and an o/s light to match.
Three weeks ago, there was a handful of bumpers for sale. Now, none at a decent price that doesn't need a lot of fettling.
The car's been off the road for too long.
Please, please put the word out.
Thanks.
H

I feel your pain... always the same. When you don't need something they are everywhere, as soon as you need it you can't find for love nor money.
I assume you are a member of ITR-DC2 forum and FB page? There are a few breakers on there that may be able to help.... in fact, I'm sure I saw someone advertising on the FB page recently that they were breaking a UK car

I couldn't register or log in with the DC2 forum - or didn't understand how to drive it! And I don't use Facebook.
I'm minded to try to flog the damned thing as it stands and put the money towards something uncomplicated with easy-to-get spares. Trouble is, if I get a Morris Minor, someone on here will tell me to put an H22 in it ...
... or change the front to a Civic.

Thanks, that looks like sound advice.
I called Paul this afternoon and he thinks he can help me out.
I'll keep you posted.

Re: At My Wit's End
Did you manage to find a good front end in the end?
Dc2's are pretty rare cars over here, I hope you've managed to pick something up.

I didn't go for the DC2 route in the end.
Paul came up trumps - I asked for the DC2 stuff but also mentioned he problem I was trying to solve. Paul sourced me the correct headlights for my car! [They look just like hen's teeth ...]
The bumper's now been painted and the repairs are advanced enough for me to book an MoT next week.

That's excellent news.
Would be really interested to see what the difference is between the two
