Hello - back to Honda
Hello
I am back in a Honda, 1999 Prelude 2.2 vti, picked it up today
Little bit of back story :- I purchased a EP3 Type R, pre-facelift the early part of last year, I really enjoyed the car, was such a great balanced car and I loved the jekyl & hyde nature of the engine, was really economical when I was bumbling along and when I wanted some fun, it was quick enough for me..........
However, it all came to end one night above the A14 in Cambridge, when a ldh hgv on foreign plates, in the wrong lane, decided to crash into the back of me.............although what looked like minor (ish) damage, it was enough for the car to be written off............ at the time, I just couldnt find another type r locally, so I jumped ship and got a R53, Mini Cooper S, as standard, it just didnt give the buzz of an EP3, so I set about tweaking it, pulley, belt, airbox mod, milltek cat back, from and rear body braces, new tyres, new bushes, bigger injectors, at this point, it felt as quick as the EP3, but, it just didnt have the feeling of a Honda, and it always struck me as about to grenade itself !
Fast forward to now, I had to have another sporty Honda, however, I didnt want another EP3, in case it wasnt as good and tarnished the fond memories of my previous one
I found a 1999 2.2vti relatively locally, downside, it is an Auto, however, 1 previous owner, clean and long MOT, full Honda history, decent tyres all round and in very good condition.........
Quick test drive..........oh yes, it was that vtec kick.........
She is now mine !

Hello - back to Honda
Awesome!
Hello and welcome, glad you're enjoying the car
Any pics?
As a 5g auto, check if the transmission fluid has been changed.. If not, that's something to do pretty sharpish (and use the right fluid and do it in accordance with the OEM service manual) to ensure the box survives. Or... Of course, you can always do a manual conversion

Hello - back to Honda
Nice car, I saw this for sale and half considered this for use as my daily hack for commuting. My type s prelude is strictly weekends and dry weather only. Ended up buying a Lexus GS300 for daily duties instead, wish I had got this Prelude instead
