H series LSD

Dudes, if i want some LSD on a H22 block, do i need a gearbox from a newer Accord Type R?
I know from past adventures that the LSD is interchangeable between B and K series transmissions, but this is my first go at a H.
I have done some searching of the website, but not found the answers i was looking for, or even if the H swap is potent enough to need LSD?
So my question really is, can i chuck a super common B LSD into a box or do i need to find a super rare Accord box?

As far as I know the most common LSDs fitted to Prelude gearboxes are the Accord typeR LSD or Mfactory's aftermarket model. I'm not sure if a B series LSD would fit.

You can get h2b adapters to use b series gearboxes on a h22. Otherwise a u2q7 from an Atr will work or build your own gearbox with a quaiffe or mfactory diff as I did.

Or a M2B4 LSD gearbox from the JDM 4th gen. Prelude, which is viscous type. The U2Q7LSD is torsen type, there are different oppinions which one is better, but the Accord gearing is slightly shorter.

And yes, can confirm that LSD is worthwhile on a Prelude H22. I have a UKDM without it and 2x JDM's with M2B4's and there is a very noticeable difference to how they put the power down.
Haven't driven a car with a U2Q7, so can't comment on the difference between M2B4 and U2Q7, but definitely don't discount a basic M2B4 swap - well worth it.

I'd have thought a B series box isn't likely to be well suited to an Accord wagon?

Thanks for confirming my suspicions, i won't H2B swap, i don't like that idea, i was just curious to know if i could put any LSD into the box as you don't see the M/U2 boxes for sale. I also don't like buying boxes i've not seen used or seen working.
Aftermarket LSDs make me sad also, they cost more than the entire engine swap

I have both gearboxes, and on my daily Prelude I drove with both, the Acccord one is more aggresive, as if you have turned off the ac.

I have the ATR (U2Q7 box) diff, in my original M2F5 UKDM gearbox and it's great. Almost caught me out a few times with how it digs in on the power. I liked the stock ratios for how the car gets driven so stuck with my original 'box. I'm pretty as a result you'll lose the variable resistance power steering, but it's for the best IMHO, it drives great. It's still assisted, just not variable.

The later prelude (99/00) has the same ratios as the accord type R box, but no LSD.

The difference between the 97-99 and the later 99/00 gearbox is quite noticeable.

It was the first thing i noticed between the old lude and the new one, not so much the extra bhp (h22a5 vs h22a8), but 3rd gear is much shorter on the later ludes. i seem to recall from some massive spreadsheet screen shot that 1st and 2nd are barely any shorter, and 4th and 5th remain the same, but 3rd is much shorter (which is a bit of a bummer because you drop out of vtec shifting into 4th on the track days but its no biggy).

It seems to be the general consensus that between a 185bhp 5th gen and a 200bhp version you notice the shorter ratio gearbox more than the extra power
Regarding dropping out of vtec changing from 3rd to 4th I find that running as close to the redline as possible before shifting keeps it just in Vtec when engaging 4th.
