So Covid's given me some spare time, I progressed this nicely.
Not may pics unfortunately, but here's one mid exhaust fabrication.
So once that was finished I was really keen to get it going, quickly finished off the oil cooler, did some final checks........
Its ready.........
So I disconnected the fuel supply and dizzy, removed the spark plugs and cranked it over for about a minute to get oil circulating with as little stress on the engine as possible. It surprising how easy an engine spins with no compression.
Once done, back on with the fuel and electrics and time for the moment of truth............
After about 10 seconds cranking it started, immediately followed by a loud hissing noise, so I shut it down immediately, seemed like the oil cooler AN fittings had crapped out on me and oil was squirting all over. Plusses and minusses.
So I had a spare Mocal oil cooler in the garage, but needed some other bits to make it fit as it didnt have ports to feed the oil pressure sensor or turbo supply.
So it was then a 2 week wait for the new bits..............
