Little update on this, after much work, re-building poorly previous repairs... New rebuilt engine... now at 245bhp and body work to match..... last of the re-build jobs comleted today

More details needed - its never nice to uncover bodged repairs but its part and parcel of old car ownership sadly. Still - sounds like you have been busy and its all sorted now.
