Delimiter/Convertor Question 4th Gen
Ah well I know my BB4 has a conversion chip mounted in-line with the speedo and I can't recall seeing anything fitted down at the ECU, so I presume it's all still oem in that regard.
I shall of course, need to test this to confirm now though... (I've had it close to where the alleged speed limit is before - on silverstone at Japfest of course - but not quite there).

Has your ECU been chipped? My ECU has been delimited because of the chip.wurlycorner wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 10:46 amAh well I know my BB4 has a conversion chip mounted in-line with the speedo and I can't recall seeing anything fitted down at the ECU, so I presume it's all still oem in that regard.

It had been, yes.
But that ecu took a jobby (would sit there revving up/cutting out - not an IACV problem, definitely the ECU) so I swapped it for one of my spares and I believe that's OEM...

Yes I could delimit the car if I fit a chipped ecu ( i have spoon v2 chip) like i did on my BB4

I'm pretty sure I extracted that v2 chip from a 4 plug TCS ECU.....
Yep, just checked my history, I extracted that v2 chip from a 4 plug TCS Spoon P13, unopened before I got my hands on it.
This was then copied by Rob and sold on here.

thats interesting - i thought i read in robs chip thread you could not chip the p13 tcs ecu - will have to check.

I bought a chip from rob specifically for the 4 connector TCS ECU in my JDM BB1 (I still haven't got round to fitting it yet...) so it's definitely a thing.

Thanks for the input - wurly can you dig out your v2 chip? vtecmec i see in photo 4 plug spoon ecu but only 3 plugs connected so im sure i was told prev.that i could use 3 plug ecu with spoon chip as tcs was standalone system but would show tcs fault light on dash
hmmm...it might be possible - but im not 100% sure
Ive opened up the 4 plug tcs ecu and the chip in place is a bit bigger the one in the non tcs P13 ecu and there is another small upright pcb board in the way - to me it looks like you would have to socket the board and then fit the spoon v2 chip but would be very tight fit.
I had a look in Robs chip thread but the link to the ecu guide doesnt work....
Merlin has a spoon ecu so maybe get a look at that and see what he says.

Delimiter/Convertor Question 4th Gen
I will have a look, for sure. Must be honest though, where I can normally remember where I put every single part I have bought for that car... I'm not sure where I've put that...
My recollection is I bought a spare 4-plug TCS ECU so I could socket that (off the car) and swap then swap the whole ECU.
I remember doing that in the spare bedroom and I'm sure that's where the ECU stayed but... I cleared the car parts out of that room for when I let it to a lodger, years ago... If I had any sense, when that car went into storage, I'd have put those parts in it (along with the others) but I'm not sure I did with the ECU...

I will take some photos of the ecu and chip and post up.
Would be good if that broken link in robs chip thread - ecu guide - could be relinked if poss.
