Rear window base seal
Hi everyone and hope you all had a great Christmas. I'm looking for the sealing strip that runs the length of the rear window along the bottom edge. I've just bought a 1995 4th gen and the one currently on my car has seen much better days. If anyone can help, I'd be grateful to hear from you. Thanks so much.

Hi Simon,
Honda dont do this part anymore.
There was talk on one of the USA prelude forum about getting a group buy together so they could manufacture new trim sets for 4th gen.
Think it was posted up on here last year but i cant find it.
Vtecmec knows about this and can maybe update you.

Funny coincidence - Simon came up in conversation between mec and I, on boxing day!
Good to hear from you Simon and to see you've bought another lude. Hope all's well!
May we ask what became of the blue one you had in Malaysia?

Hi fellas and I'm chuffed I'm remembered. It's been a while and I'm ashamed to say that I've been driving a Celica for a couple of years. However, the passion never waned and I have another blue beauty (albeit a light blue) and I'm here in Blighty on a mission to recreate the Pacific blue love of my life. WSX in in good hands although I miss her terribly. Hi to you all and thanks for the welcome. Happy New year to everyone and I look forward to pestering each and everyone of you gurus now I'm back in the fold.

There was a plan on Prelude Power about getting trims manufactured for 4th gen, unfortunately the plan seems to have died a death.
That rear trim can be sanded smooth and either painted, or wrapped, it seems the only solution really.
Hi Simon, nice to see your still around.

What about these people.

Seem to remember they were on one of the Car SOS programmes.
Could end up being a group buy.

Thanks for the link. It might be worth a call or an email to them to see if they're willing to help.nalla wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 9:21 amWhat about these people.

@Vtecmec. Sorry to bug you but can I get your help on this please? Is this a job that leaves it in-situ or does it mean taking it out?
Any tips and techniques (by techniques, I mean an idiot's guide) you can share regarding this task because as you know, I'm a guy who still hasn't figured out how to work a screwdriver yet.
Many thanks, buddy.

maybe worth having a go covering it in situ - use some correctly sized pinstriping tape - gloss or matte black - your choice.
removing it will need some real care as no replacements are available - just a thought and what im planning to do with the one on my lude when it needs refurbed.
