I wouldn't worry about those adjustment clips. They don't need to be beefy - they are there to simply set the height and locate the strut in the knuckle before you tighten the pinch bolt.
The pinch bolt/clamping is what keeps it all connected. Be sure to put a little anti seize on the circlip so that if you do want to change its position later, its not corroded to buggery.

Been a while..
Kid grew and the back became too small. He really enjoyed the driving, so had to make a bit more room.
Btw, Britax hi-way II fits really nice.

Did a seat conversion as well.

During one of the winters, played with rust removal with vinegar and I was surprised about the results.

From the surface you can tell how rusty they were:

Also, calipers got a treatment they deserved.

I tried to coat them with home dept available heat resistant plays, but I really did not want them to stand out so much.

The I chose something similar to Brembo color.

And the best job so far.
The noise from the exhaust was pitching, resonating and was not pleasant at all. So, bought some genuine materials at cut some throats.
Resonator was completely empty, so I packed it well:

Similar situation in the muffler, that’s all was left:

Wool as a primary layer:

And the rest of the insulation:

And back in place:

I’m really satisfied with the result:

Looking so good.
DIY exhaust back box repair is particularly impressive - don't know anyone else that has done that!
May I ask why the engine has been removed?
