Inner and outer, one side is perfect the other is crusty. What should I roughly be expecting to pay to have them replaced and painted to match.

Been a little while since anyone has had that done on here, I think. Prices tend to vary a lot around the country as well.
Best thing is to just get some quotes from any bodyshops round your way that have a decent reputation for that kind of repair (not just crash repair).

Have you already bought the replacement panels?
A bodyshop almost certainly won't source them (they're not available through the mainstream panel dealers, used to be only through a guy on here but now through ebay) so unless you confirm to the shop that you have them, they might be reticent to give you a quote tbh.

Well I'm doing this ,in may been looking around at places some won't touch the job but finally found a place that do what I need that'd cutting out welding metal an rust treatment an then paint 650 which I think is cheap alot of the classic car people here around Manchester Liverpool, go there so can be bad but have been quoted by other places 1000 and more so hold on to your hat and take a good look around an see where people take there old e types etc most likely the best place to go if your near the north west I can guide you to some places

Is that £650 for both sides, or one side (though tbh in todays market I think that's cheap for just one side - they might regret that price once they start  )

Also I should have asked - are they buying the panel or you buying and supplying free-issue to them?

replacement panels are available via ebay, work to have them done for me (on scooby, but prelude will be likely about the same) for me was £1200 - that's the same person cutting out the old panel, welding in new one and painting.
