During September 2010, the dashboard light indicating low fuel failed. I bought a replacement bulb complete with holder from my local Honda dealer, the part number is 37103-SD2-003. The fault was still present, so it was assumed the fault was with the fuel gauge sending unit (fuel tank level sensor). The part was purchased during 10/2011 from my local Honda dealer. The Honda part number is 37800-S30-305. It was not fitted until 03/2012, which took me just under two hours. The light now works.

interesting...so CARRisma, did your fuel gauge still work with a faulty sender unit then? i thought they would be connected in operation...fuel level and warning light.

Yeah, the needle was going up and down like a whore's draws as normal. Just the light stopped working.

Shame the faulty part cost me £101.65 and not £5.85 for the bulb & holder.

I still have my old bulb and holder if you want it - if it's compatible?

Yes, I admit it was a tad excessive, but I'm a perfectionist with OCD, especially where The Lude is concerned.

Hmm I just searched for this cos I thought CARRisma had an easy fix for his...

Mine stopped working one week, worked again for a while and now has given up altogether.
£101 for a light to remind me how low the needle is? No thanks.

It got so bad on my JDM that I ran out of fuel on a dual carriageway
Thankfully it then fixed itself :D

I can have mine showing nothing on the fuel gauge and it does not come on, but it does work, I have seen it, It must be right as it is about to run out though.

I've still got the old bulb and holder if anyone wants it? Wasn't proven to be definitely faulty.
