I am in dispute with the bodyshop

Carrisma here is one that you only know to well about. I have found a rust bubble on the rear arch above the bumper on the area that "new metal was supposed to have been welded in. I got hold of him at 4.40 this afternoon and was told that the rust was coming from the inside but he would cut it out and redo it at no cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The bodyshop removed the windscreen surround themseves and put it back no windscreen fitter involved.
He said he would be at my house at 9.30 in the morning. IT took me to go ballistic to get that far. I have also said I will be there when he cuts the "new" metal out. God help him if all I see is filler.
Today was Jenny and my 20th wedding aniversary and that completely bloody ruined a nice day out we had planned.
I let them off the sunroof that failed when they had it as i surmised that could have happened at any time. as the mechanism was worn
As for not noticing the body issues it was covered in whatever polish they put on the car when it was finished.
As you may remember it rained nearly all of September so I was not able to see the car clearly or wash it until recently then the crap came to light!

Sorry to hear about this.

There's no excuse for re-using the previous clips either, 'cause a full set costs absolute peanuts! The trim isn't peanuts but not quite as high as £130 either...

You have to be really careful when removing the trim, so you don't bend it - very very difficult to get it back into shape after that (it stretches)

My cars will be going to another bodyshop for a quote at the end of this week. fingers crossed for the 2nd time

Goodluck mart, do not use DP Gardner, Farend, Mayshill Near Yate. Unless he puts his hands up and does things propery.

What is with these people is there a decent tradesman that can do a proper bodywork job anymore without effing hassle!
30 years in business servicing and repairing photocopiers. I screwed up sometimes and moved heaven and earth to sort it even if I made a loss. I could not sleep otherwise. Seems that I am in the minority these days

There are some, yes - the bloke respraying the JDM still can't stop appollogising about the fact he's still got it and is having to re-paint it. I've told him plenty of times not to worry, he's the one who's now spent several weeks rubbing the same car down twice and had to fork out for two lots of paint, for something that wasn't his fault in the first place (just a bad batch of laquer that didn't cure) for no extra money.

Those sort of places are definitely few and far between though that's for sure and that's why I pretty much never ever take my car to a garage for work!!!

Spit & sawdust for me, H&B Body Repairs in Axford, honest craftsmen, always done a top job and put right a poor accident repair carried out by someone else on my old Accord (lacquer sink, sanding marks etc which didn't materialise until a few months later).

He did some rust for me on my old Accord and a few months later when i was visiting him spotted a small rust bubble. I wasn't really bothered (was a bit embarrassed about mentioning it actually as he had done a bit of a mates rate on the job) and he went mad at me for not telling him. He said how is he to know if he has done anything wrong if i don't tell him! Took the car back in and insisted he put it right.

This to me is the right way of doing business.

It may of all ready been said but if not

Had my wind screen badly fitted also trim sticking out a mile

Phone call to the gapher and he came him self very apologetic he took a look and said leave it with him 20 mins later he summons me and explained what went wrong and said his employee needed further training.
On the trim their are channels on it and it's easy to locate it on the bottom channel and not the top that's what had coked mine up so that's where most lude robbers are badly fitted when the gapher had finished it was perfect
