Don't think I have a yellow plug near the service connector though, I'll check in a bit

Just looked in the manual, seems there is no reset for the Type-1 system I have. You have to take voltages from the SRS ECU using a test harness to find which part has gone wrong

All I can really say atm is that the yellow plug for the srs reset is above/in the fuse box in drivers footwell .
Have a look there for starters. Mine is a '95 m reg and that was where it was.

There is only one plug in the fuse box and that is for the power

I can't say I've come across a yellow connector in either of mine either, but I haven't really been looking either so may have missed it.

Interestingly though, that pic shows the extra connector that my JDM has, but I can't seem to get to do anything and no-one seems to know anything more about? (the big grey 2 pin connector behind the blue one in that pic)

Grey one should be a 3 pin data connector

Seems there are a few types of SRS systems used through the years

Orginal Type - Has a LED that flashes in the steering wheel (From orginal 1992 workshop manual)

Type I - Has Drivers and Passenger aribags, Shorting the service connector does not give any error flashes from the SRS light and no form of reset (From 1993 service manual update)

Type II - Same as Type I but without the passenger airbag (From 1993 service manual update)

Type III - Allows you to get fault codes via the service connector and has a separate plug by the service connector allowing you to reset the system (From 1994 service manual update)

My UKDM is a Type I :(

This is exactly the same way I reset the SRS light on my del sol, the yellow connector was under the steering column.
