A8 Lude having it's first major work

Post by nickb » Sat Jan 26, 2013 2:50 pm

Hi

I dropped the Lude off at @PerformanceAutoworks this morning for its first bit of major work. I’m all excited to have started the journey to Lude beast and associated broken bank balance. This is what I bought last year….

http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/prelude ... t3130.html

….Green with beige interior was probably bottom of my list of colour and trim but as you can see from the add it is an A8 and was the cleanest I had spotted after quite a bit of time keeping an eye out for one. It came with a U2Q7 ATR gearbox, recent big service including cam belt change etc, cracking service history all documented and even had the original Honda key ring and spare/service keys. I now love the green, think it really suits the car but will at some point do something about the beige, black mats have toned it down a bit for now.

Since purchasing it and after reading all the recommendations for Performance Autoworks I took it to Rich for a health check to make sure I hadn’t bought a donkey, anything that showed up will be fixed by upgrade work so since then it has been a case of purchasing a few parts as they have popped up on here and ebay and save save save. I removed the resonator, fitted a K&N panel filter and carbon wrapped the wood effect stereo surround as cheap simple mods.

Anyway this time next week it will have had the following done…

Full Energy Suspension Polybush and geometry setup
Fujistsubo Super EX header and downpipe
Bremtech grooved front disks
Ferodo DS2500 front pads
Bremtech blank rear disks and OEM spec pads
Goodridge braided brakes lines
Castrol super response brake fluid
New rear callipers

That is phase one of the work and all I can afford right now but future work will be….

New exhaust and decat to match up the fujitsubo header which should be within the next month or two.

I have an ATR intake manifold complete with throttle body, injectors etc. This will go on along with port/polish and whatever else Rich recommends and I can afford at this stage. All finished off with new brains (Hondata S300/P28 ECU) and map.

At some point ill fit some Meister R coilovers as well.

Just thought I’d share my excitement with people that would share it.

Cheers

Nick

Yup- should be a bit of a sleeper after all that work

My bro also has a late A8 5g. I suspect he may take a similar route eventually

Yeah @bennyboy your build has been mentioned a few times in my chats with Rich. Great gains for a price I can live with.

Groovy.
You won't regret it, I drove mine to day for the first time in about 2 weeks, and even though it was only a short journey it was great to be back behind the wheel.

Looks good matey - personally I love the paint colour and think the interior colour goes well with it, too.
