Right ok. I'll sort this coolant leak out and then get the car up to temp and bleed the coolant propperly and then take it down the street and go from there.

It's getting tunned at Thor racing in west side of Coventry which is roughly 30 miles away.

And there was me thinking I'd get mine finished by the time you find this problem! :P

So we think it was the TDC sensor or crank position sensor? Even with the basemap that idle A/F is very high, very weird. The bypass definitely working right yeah?

Congrats though buddy, your efforts will be heavily rewarded when you get to drive the beast!

Im not sure on the A/F ratios.
Im not sure if the sensor is damaged or what. I drove the car with the sensor installed but not powered up. I have now read this is a big no no.
Ideally i need a 3rd sensor i can shove up the exhaust and see what the reading is.

If i open the bypass valve nothing changes since its already open.

As it stands i darnt drive the car since i dont know what the fuelling is doing. I have the H22 base map and i have adjusted the injectors lag and size so it "should" be running like normal.

And another breakthorugh.

Its all comming together. Yippeeeee.

So i did a full on cold start with the greddy plugged in.
A/F ratios are at 13.1 initially. And every second after it rises and rises and rises until its stable at 18.5.
If i touch the throttle it stay around the upper teens and even 22.1:0. Also it soundeds a bit misfirey or hesitat. Almost like an old skool V8 firing order or spitfirey.

Engine off

I unplugged the Greddy and nothing. No start.

You have to unplug the whole boomslang harness.

Whole harness off. Stock ECU on its own like normal

Car starts INSTANTLY
Idle is SMOOOOOOTH, A/F are at 13.1 and stary there. YAy.
I blip the throttle and i can see the air fuel dip to 11-12s. But on a steady rev to 3k they stay around 13. And it revs smoothly and sounds normal.

So the base map and injector lags times on the greddy are not ideal for the Type S engine. Maybe a normal 10.7 compresion 5th gen JDM since all the greddy maps on the software are for JDM engines.

But i was under the assumption that 440cc injectors would run rich on a stock ECU. I have read that OBD2 ECU can compensate a 50% increase in volume so that would be around 390cc it can cope with.

So i can assume it will be fine like this for now and then it can get a propper tune on the greddy.

I just need to do a full engine warm up now and do some WOT pulls up to 3k since i wont be driving the car or hitting boost untunned.

So close you can almost smell it!

Sounds like you're on the right track with the injector voltage being out??? As to where to find them for your car, I havn't a clue - I guess you measure it yourself with a multimeter? :?

Injector pulse will be too quick for a multimeter, you'd need an oscilloscope to measure that.

Unless (having said that without looking at the wiring diagram) the injectors have a permanent +ve rail and are switched on the ground, meaning you could measure the +ve rail accurately.
You wouldn't know how effective the ground was via the ECU though, so still wouldn't know exactly what voltage was being dropped over the injector when it fired.

(he says haven't not read the other thread so not having the full story, because he's nearly 2 days behind on the forum now!!!)

:?
