:? Mr Credit Card has taken one hell of a bashing the last couple of months... Which is completely unlike me - goes with my only recently adopted 'start living for the now and enjoying life a bit more' attitude.

Mind you, at least I'm now 'doing my bit' by becoming a dutiful good consumer at last!

You can't take it with you mate. The last year has made me question a lot, but as long as the responsibilities are taken care of first, I pretty much think drokk it now. :? :)

Righto, so (for any that are interested) just to update this with details of the car that Indigo made me buy... :x

I didn't get any pics of it when I arrived, but basically it had spent 13 years parked up in the corner of a drive slowly being overtaken by the surrounding hedge... The seller said they couldn't even get the car to turn over despite putting a new battery on it. I had it running within 15 mins of arriving (and only about 5 seconds of cranking with the ignition actually on) and idled nicely straight away :D

Next thing was to close the hydraulic bleed screw I'd opened and charge the hydraulic system :scaredtoss:
Charged and rose ok, no leaks  so then shunted it back and forth to try and free the pads off the discs - result!
Then moved it out from the hedge and the steering went hard and the suspension dropped at the back  LHM reservoir empty - needed just over 2Litres of LHM and a system bleed to clear the air lock and we were away again.

One tyre was popped off the rim and I couldn't get it to go back on, but the good thing about a hydraulic citroen is that doesn't matter - it will still drive flat and level so no problems loading up

On my way
Image

Stopped off at some services to meet up with vtecmec and hand over an alternator for his beast. Fail to me for driving the wrong way into the Maccy D's one way car park system
Image

That all important "2" on the end of the badge that I didn't already have ;)
Image

Ready to be unloaded
Image

When I first saw it, I thought it had the wrong exhaust on it - Turbo's should be twin pipe...
Image

Ah, that will explain it
Image
Rusted and fallen off

So what of the rest of it? Well a mixed bag really. It's all there (and bits that have fallen off are in the boot) and it's all straight.
Image
Image
Image

It has the cleanest inner arches of any car I've ever bought  :10:
Image
And this side at least (that normally rots at the front, beside the battery) isn't!
Image
Same isn't true of the other side;
Image
Image

There are no hydraulic leaks (tempting fate) and it all runs fine.
Image
You can see it was nicely entagled in the undergrowth and had been sat on its rear passenger disc inner dust cover :(
Image

Interior though is bloody amazing condition! :o
Image
Image
Not a split or a crack anywhere :D
Image
Note more about the hedge growth into the doors )
Image
The door trims even have the original protective covers from manufacture on them

As well as the usual bootlid and bonnet, the bottom of the doors are rotten as well, as ususal
Image
And the front of the front passenger door
Image
Image
Drivers door has obviously had a repair before - that's not the original seam sealer
Image
Image
Last one, yep also rotten...
Image

Oh, if the warning light is to be believed it also has no oil pressure  There's oil dripping out of the rocker shaft ok when it's running though, so that must be talking bollocks. :? I've bought a new one (£7 delivered  ) so I'll stick that on and see what happens. ;)

Aside from that, I need to get underneath and see what the front floors, inner sills and rear bumper bar are like, that will determine if it's a breaker or not. I'd like not to (I like the colour and want to keep with having all 3 variants of the model ;) )but we'll see. If not, the price I paid is WELL WELL worth it for that proper 80's pimp style leather interior, in that condition (let alone the rest of the spares it could give up).
