Between cam lobe and rocker arm. I adjusted mine like the manual says. Have a read at it! (section 6-9)

I did the valve clearances last night, and my god, what a ball ache job it is. I think the problem I had was with my particular feeler gauges making the task a lot more difficult.

A couple weeks ago, I purchased a new Draper Long Blade Feeler Gauge (52339) and their problem is that they're too long. I'm sure they would be lovely on some other engines, but not H22. So, if anyone is ready this and is wanting to buy a new feeler gauge for their valve clearances, DO NOT buy the ones I used. You need something shorter, half their length would be lovely.

I (or more precisely, me & my dad) adjusted the valves to:
  • Intake: 0.15 mm (0.006 in)
    Exhaust: 0.18 mm (0.007 in)
I drove to work today rather than getting the bus like I usually do, and all seems hunky dory.

Were they far out? Any noticeable differences since doing them? (noise etc.)

IM still to do mine. But as in working 6 days a week atm and rely heavily on the car for now in leaving it until in back to 5 days and have my bike back.

i bought my feeler gauge tool set from wilco. Cost me £5 :D

let me know if it made a difference. Glad yours went ok though

Not really far out, but we're talking only fractions of a millimetre anyway! Some were too loose, some were too tight, but nothing major I'd say. When I started it up last night after putting it all back together, it did seem quieter than usual. Before, there was a slight ticking, which I thought was from an injector(s), but that's gone now.
