I think the auto 2.2 VTEC's are import only.

surely that's not a jdm import due to the 2 piece instead of 1 piece headlights, and the air con is manual, not digi....

I don't conclusively 'know' otherwise atm, but... When I was first looking to buy a lude (over a decade ago now) 'all' the vtecs that were turning up for sale were bloody auto's

and there wasn't the huge mass of jdm import ludes over here back then.
So I'm pretty sure there was a UKDM vtec auto???

Positive. Go on Lings and select the DOHC VTEC, they only list the 5 speed manual. Lings are pretty comprehensive in their info.

The confusion is that the 2.0 and 2.3 UKDM's were available to option - you could spec various guises, the 2.2 VTEC came in one spec only in the UK. Manual, sunroof, blah blah.
