You don't need to take the belt off, but you should slacken off the tensioner to remove the cams/replace them and then re-tension the belt after.

( I should add, I didn't fit them myself 'cause I didn't have the time/couldn't be bothered and got it done during a cambelt change

)

Have you considered putting on some nice lightweight, streamlined OEM bumpers?
Your batmobile bumpers will be doing you no favours if it's speed you're after.

I would remove/replace the cam belt when swapping cams as there will be no sure way to re check the timing after

. A re tune after fitting the cams would obviously benefit but i assume you can run them stock.

everyone knows massive aftermarket bumpers add 10bhp each!

but being serious, i like the style its got at the moment so going stock bumpers isnt really something i would consider. and the makeup of the bumper will aid fabricating a cold air feed to the air filter, so hopefully that will offset the extra weight a little.

Yeah I thought the rob chip was more just of a upgrade for a basic exhaust and air intake setup and changing the cams is going on a bit more so a proper tuneable ecu would release the best of it, that's why I haven't fitted my type S cams or ATR inlet yet

Running your car down the strip because you're interested in the time is one thing, but purposefully modifying your car just for quarter mile times... not for me, thanks.

Mostly because the cheapest thing to do is reduce weight, and that means removing a lot of the stuff that makes a Prelude a great every day car - the comfort, the electrical aids, the sound deadening etc, and at the end of it you're left with a car that's not as nice to drive on the road as it once was, and a desire to shave another 0.1 second from your 0-60 time and the associated costs this incurs.
