Damn I didnt want to remove 4ws I quite like it lol will have to have a look and see what I can do to keep 4ws steer its working fine so no need to remove I just hate the look of standard wheel its hideous lolwurlycorner wrote:Yep, 4ws will need to be removed if fitting an after market steering wheel I think, because there's a sensor on the column that pics up from the back of the oem wheel. Not sure if you can adapt an aftermarket boss to work with the sensor?
Removing cruise is a bit pointless IMO - it weighs absolutely nothing.
Cheers mate ill have a look into it and see what I can do hopefully it wont be too difficultVtecmec wrote:I'm sure it can be made to work, basically there is a plastic disc (main angle steering sensor) that sits behind the OEM wheel, with holes in it, the OEM wheel has lugs that sit in these holes, if you can take the back off your OEM wheel and fashion it to the new stuff, your in business.
I did this with a civic wheel halfway down this post....

Not exactly the same situation, but you get the idea.
I just tested it statically mate but somebody on facebook said the 4ws sensor is further in I really don't have a clue lol I only fitted it to see what it looked likewurlycorner wrote:The bits you've removed there, are they not the original contacts for the cruise control, rather than the 4ws sensor?
I think the 4WS sensor is inside the cowel itself and is an optical sensor onto the back of the original steering wheel??? Is that not right?(shooting from the hip there...)
Have you driven the car like that and the 4WS not flagged a fault, or just tested the 4WS statically?
