I should have a few rear wing configs to try out so it will be interesting. Plus a new SJ4000 camera so will be experimenting with 2nd camera placement too.
Last nights playtime was making a rough template for the gurney flap V1. Just as a concept to see what it will look like and any issue that might occur with fabricating it. The top edge is a bit wobbly as I was free hand cutting it with a knife
The flap is 3cm (18% of core length) so the down force it creates should be decent. A flap just 1.25% of core length is supposed to increase the down force of the spoiler by 20-30%. But since the spoiler itself does not generate much down force or drag by itself I thought a larger flap was needed.
I have made a section that folds under itself to attach on to there the brake light screws in, the rest of it will be riveted to the spoiler.
