Post by JuvUK1 » Sat Jan 30, 2016 3:08 pm

Hi all,

sorry for the stupid question.

i was told my 4th gen has 9005 and 9006 headlamp bulbs, but now i look at mine i don't think that is correct :(

what bulbs are the dips and main beams?

thanks, JuvUK

Don't know. With this kind of thing, I tend to just take the old one out and compare against a replacement in the shop?

sure one of them -possibly the main beam is H4 12v 60/55W but wurlys method is the most reliable :)

Well what a wierd setup the 4th gen lude has

as Merlin posted the dip beams are indeed H4 which is very odd as the H4 is a duel filiment bulb meaning it does dip and main beam, yet the lube ignores this and just uses the dip part.

the main beam is a H1 bulb in a weird 2 pin adaptor.

so in short if anyone wants to know what bulbs go into a 4 gen JDM then it is H4 for dip and H1 for main beam

and here is a picture of Asi with his new LEDs :)

cheers, Justin

Just came across this on mine as a bulb has gone.... The H4 sits in the outer cluster of the two and is dual filament. The H1 sits in the center cluster nearest to the nostrils.

Strange setup, but here's where I got baffled. With the ignition fully off, and switching on side lights, only the Led side lights illuminate (very normal) however, with the ignition on switching to side lights illuminates the side lights and the dipped filament of the H4.... Selecting Dipped beam then illuminates the full/high beam filament. Then clicking onto full/high beam illuminates the H1's.....

What is with this? Surely having both filaments in the H4 illuminated is going to reduce the bulbs life span? Does anyone else's work this way or has there been some Dodgey Have a go harry playing with my electrics?
