Cars looking ace as usual 8-)
Cheers @bennyboy
I will do that as will save me the cost of a respray. :D

Mirrors never look right after a colour swap either, unless they've been fully stripped.

Re: Petee's Lude 4th Gen H23A - She started. First time

Post by prahunt » Sat Jan 09, 2016 5:37 pm

Lude started first time today. :D I was a happy man.
Went for a little drive in her to ensure she ran smooth, no issues at all.

Dropped off at the body shop now to sort the rear panel, and some minor defects in the paint.
Will have her back by the end of January.

I did notice a small leak of oil on the floor of the garage, is this normal to expect when she's been sitting still for over a month? Or should I investigate further when I have her back?
Got some proper plans in place for the engine bay now as well, rocker cover refurb, battery relocation, new air filter, etc. So should have her looking, sitting and singing pretty by April.

Depends how anal you are.
Least of the worries on mine...

(But seriously...) You could check the usual suspects - oil cooler, distributor, cam end seal, power steering cooler.

cheers @JEBB4 hopefully she'll be looking even sweeter come show season. Few touches up, new back box in the work, and finally some engine bay work.

I should congratulate you as well it seems. Too well matched to separate a vote.

Picked up the Prelude from the coachworks today.
She looked stunning outside as I got there. Really missed the shape and style of the Lude.

Took her out for a spin as I had some errands to run.
Was initially a bit, where's the power (daily car is running a fair bit but is turbo) then I remembered how fantastic the cornering is, how amazing it sounds to rev the tits of an NA engine, and then it hit me again. I still love her. :D
Unfortunately the weathers pretty crap today so I've only taken some phone pictures of her parked up next to the daily.

Due to take her to a dyno day next Sunday down in Milton Keynes.
Will be interesting to see what power she still has under the hood, considering the level of maintenance and service she's had since new. I'll be happy with retaining the factory output. Have to wait and see.

Am talking to my mate Rob about helping me relocate the battery in March, and from there I can fit the BMC CDA in, as well as have a new tailpipe fitted and get the alloys refurbished.
