That's the write up I read its for obd2 5g ECU so different I think...

Then yes I think you would need to convert the ECU. It's all very well still having auto signals going to/from the ECU if they don't then go anywhere (if you had an auto and had converted it to manual) but that doesn't work in reverse - all the signals need to be be there and be going to the right places if you've converted a manual to an auto

No no Wurl, sorry I confused the jobby out of you there...
I am doing an auto to manual convertion essentially as first thought, I guess I'll just try it when the time comes, just unsure if the ECU would controls the engine properly not seeing signals from some auto box components

..
Saying that it's obd1 so pretty basic..
