If you fit a start button, it's annoying to have to put the key in and turn it to the ignition position. You might as well start the car with the key then!
My TVR had a system where you pressed the key fob button to unlock the car, then pressing the same button within 30 secs or so enabled the start button (i.e. switched off the immobiliser) which both switched on the ignition and started the engine.
There was also a stop button.
I think I'm going to source the same alarm that the TVR used, which is a Meta, and fit that so it works the same way. It does mean disabling the steering lock, but that's hardly necessary when you have an immobiliser.
