Japanese Performance Show - 20th August 2017 - PICS
Held at Stoneleigh Park, (National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre)
From where I am it's an easy one up the M40.
Service station snap as always:
I'd been following that Integra most of the way, nice car and the the engine bay......
On to the show and a wee queue, though not Beaulieu style!
Now some Prelude Porn!!!
OOOOPS
Actually I am referring to the HondaR 400bhp Prelude, the one with the supercharged K series engine.
Only the club cars got the indoor spots, definitely the place to be and a row of Preludes would have looked sublime.
So I was outside next to a tweaked 450BHP Scoobie, (lucky me).
Anyone know this Lude??
Including my own there where only 3 Ludes, all 5th gen.
Where have all the 4th Gens gone and why are all the 5th gens being broken up.
And no 3rd Gens either.
Preludes are a very rare sight these days.
I've not been to many shows but this did feel more 'hardcore', if that makes sense??
The indoor section was the place for the cars to shine.
What follows is a random set of pics to hopefully give you a feel for the event and figure out if this is worth adding to an event that's 'a must', as I say, a row of Preludes in one of the indoor halls, all lined up, damn that would look so photogenic.
There was a second large indoor section:
Back to the main hall:
The cute Civic again:
And the maddest Honda.....
I was looking at it thinking, this can't be a CRV, I know the CRV and this.... ooohhh wait, I see it now!!
Decent day, good weather and the car got a nice run.
Smallish event, e.g. only one burger stall and just the one coffee and donut stand, so in terms of catering supplied compared to Japfest it's small fry. It did it's bit for family friendly points with an underused bouncy castle and some RC cars and there was a stage banging out the tunes.
I'd probably go again, preferably with Ludegen, (a row of waxed preludes )
Might be worth getting a stand there next year??

The Prelude did receive a bit of attention, (which was nice). One from a former Lude owner who listed 30+ cars he'd owned, the Prelude being one he regretted getting rid of, which his wife agreed with, seeeing the Preldue was a trip down memory lane for them.
Glad I went, a nice relaxed day.
Ohh and thanks for looking at all the phots, as I was uploading I realised there was a lot!
You're not wrong there, it was very impressive with no 'dailies' in sight.wurlycorner wrote:Lots of cars there that have had a LOT of money spent on them though
Made a change from the crowds of Silverstone and the barrage of noises as Civics compete to be first to blow up their engine!NafemanNathan wrote:Even if it was a small event there looked to be a quality turn out

LO
Some great motors TA for posting all the piccies
I must admit I don't like the S2000 extra wide arches a bit too much for me.
I would avertise it as the Kim Kardashian Body Kit
The old white skyline is my fav
Cheers
