Mate.. that sucks.
Glad everyone is OK, but damn, that sucks ass..
I know he shouldn't be driving if he has epilepsy, a friend of mine isn't allowed to drive because of it.
Fingers crossed, it's not written off - will you buy it back if it is?
A real shame buddy - beautiful car.. :(

Oh and be prepared for 2 years of ambulance chasers phoning you!

Sorry to see that man, what crap luck!

Can't see them repairing that, unfortunately.

So what next, another 3rd gen and swap your bits over?

At least you can demand absolutely top whack for it (plus some) with all the restoration work you had done on it in the last year and can prove with photo's!

 Would your bodywork guy still honour the free respray on another car? Do you think he'd notice if you took in another 3g that was a different colour? ;)

Driving is possible with epilepsy (I have a friend who's a paramedic that was diagnosed with it and was off the road for a while but been back on for a number of years now). It's all down to a doctors assessment of the person based on things like past history/how well it is controlled with drugs (how long since last fit etc.)

Re epilepsy, I think it depends upon when his last seizure was....

Terrible luck :( did you get it revalued after the respray?

My mother (may Satan take her soul) has epilepsy that would cause her to lose consciousness, however she was fine providing she took her medication as prescribed. She drove (legally) without incident in the whole time I knew her but obviously there are others out there that aren't as fortunate.

Cheers guys. Yeah I'm fine, just absolutely gutted :(

And I'm more annoyed at the chicane traffic charming system than I am the driver, as if it wasn't for them the accident would have happened behind me. I already had a vendetta against chicanes, but then the whole thing would have been a lot worse and he could have been seriously injured as the lorry would have still been driving at about 30mph.

With regards to the car, I've pretty much already concluded it's going to be a write off, even though the insurers talked of it being repaired. I just have to wait for him to report in with his insurers and see what's said. I was just going to take out a few things and refit the steelies, before they come to look at it/take it away.

I don't really know what happens now, but I'm already prepared for them to offer much lower than I feel she's worth, so I think I might have to start collecting higher priced examples of 3rd gens for sale/sold. If you guys could help me and past them here then that'd be most appreciated :)

Anyone got a link to that grey 3rd gen with the yellow Borbets that sold not too long ago?...
