Yep, I was assuming the same thing. No where else to go to recover your losses otherwise (unless you know who it was that vandalised the car and can pursue a civil claim against them or get the police interested in criminal damage).

I'd withdraw the insurance claim.
I was rear ended a couple of years ago - just a nudge really - and thought I'd chance my arm and try and get a new bumper out of it.. The fekkers wanted to write my car off, so I withdrew the claim. Nothing more was said and I bought another rear bumper off fleabay..
..
Still getting calls from ambulance chasers even now though, drokking parasites!

You can't withdraw a claim these days. Well, you can, but it still stays on the database and drokks your future premiums, so once you've told them, might as well carry on and get what you can out of them

Police have charged the person and gave them an on the spot fine! Only reason I involved insurance as the damage to the rear quarter is quite severe IMO off course and a cebul replacement wouldn't be big enough to repair it??? so would need to be a genuine part from honda which is £'s ill try get some pics and let others judge, already told insurance I value it at £1000 and want the option to buy it back mainly cause of the kit leather and exhaust on it.

Have you seen panel prices from Honda? They are, as you would expect, pretty drokking high. IIRC when I was looking at getting my rear quarter damage done it was about 16-1700 quid for the panels (inner and outer) alone.

Sorry to hear of the damage dude! And hope you figure out what to do!

My car was vandalised a few months ago, someone pushed the front Bonnet in. Granted it was no where near as bad as your damage. Still infuriating the time and money which you have to put in to fix these things!

I love owning old Hondas but if your not careful and end up damaging it you can be left with peanuts!

Cheers for the input guys, pretty gutted tbh as it was one clean car, only bit of rust was round the bootlock, you can see from the pics even the rear arches were spotless which is rare for older hondas. I'll see what insurance come back with but i'll be doing what you said @wurlycorner and telling them I want to buy the car back so its going nowhere so I can take the good bits off and either sell on or fit to another lude.
