I had a similar experience about 20 years ago a wheel came off an artics trailer on the opposite carriageway on the M4 and bounced high in the air and continued towards me. I was driving my XJ6 with the sunroof open. I was like a rabbit in a cars headlights and just kept driving straight. It went over my roof at about 5 feet and disappeared into a field. I was shaken and had to pull onto the hard shoulder and have a fag. I know how you feel Merc!
