OK I drokking misjudged this one
It just fell off and rotated and this thing is, I would guess, around 75-100 cm diameter. It looked a lot smaller from the hatch. Also found two starter nests/hibernating queens in other places in the loft (little golf ball things).
Went up armed with a cardboard box and a pair of tights over my head à la beekeeper outfit. It fell off the roof, I heard a lot of crawling activity, got a bit closer to take a picture and got the drokk out.

Apparently the council will come and sort it for £67 but I'm half tempted to give it a go... I reckon I could get to the main bulk and get it in a heavy duty bin bag before they go mental, it's just the bit still attached that has me concerned
