I'll go to my bank tomorrow and ask them to do their thang.. And if not resolved then Trading standards are not far from me too. I'll update when I can.

I paid £26 via PayPal and £94 via Bank transfer - Paypal straight away gave me the refund of the deposit - it's just the bank transfer that I did that's gone.

Banks in general have been getting a lot of stick lately for not doing enough in fraud cases. This is probably a good time to have a go.

Remember when I got conned out of a lot of money for those Recaros I never saw? The bank said they couldn't do anything, but try the police. The police said they couldn't do anything, but try Action Fraud. I rang them and they took all the details I had (What happened, Email addresses, bank account numbers etc). 6 months later I got a call from CID asking me to be a witness against the guy who they've been building a case on for a couple of years!

So give Action Fraud a call. Chances are this isn't the first time these guys have done it, so you can add to the portfolio against them. They can't guarantee your money back, but at least you can help tackle them and have them see their just deserve

It makes my blood boil the cheek that some people have.
Shame the address is not real. You could pay them a visit.

Another avenue is that if the company or person does genuinely exist, you can go after them through small claims court. You may have legal aid cover under your motor or home insurance that can help with that.

In the meantime, I assume you have contacted Shipley to get the trader removed from their list?

As for the address being a residential street, that doesn't mean it isn't a genuine company. The guy could very easily be running a legitimate business of this sort, from his home address (in fact, if he's a one man band, I would expect nothing less).

Something similar happened to a mate of mine a few years ago where he wanted something picking up and dropping off to his house and he got scammed some money.

He went to the police mate, and took it through the courts to get his money back.

You have a reasonable amount of evidence to supply them in the form of

1.) A trail of emails.
2.) A sort code and account number.
3.) Google residential address.

The police should be able to do something for you, they may not get your money back for you straight away, but if you go the bank and say that that you have also reported it to the police and have a Crime reference number the bank will take it more seriously as well.
