I like the current theory that the Big Jessie started the whole thing of because he wanted to be sacked by the Beeb.
It's (sort of) the reverse of the old chestnut:
Q: How do I get rid of an employee without a drawn-out process?
A: Smack him one, then fire him for fighting.

Well, the list of potentials is interesting...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-32064440
Out of that list the front runners I'd say would be Evans, Kidd and Vicki and possibly Jay Kay. I don't think Atkinson would do it, he doesn't really like playing himself I think.
Kidd has the right credentials and personality, but she's too wooden in the studio. Vicki B&H could be fun!
I expect they would want someone new though...
I have a feeling we won't find out for quite some time, though.

Always liked Vikki myself. She was my first thought of replacing Jeremy when this all came to light actually, but she's not a leader... Not of Hammond and May anyway, and neither of them can lead, so I imagine it's all got to be dependant on whether they're staying or not.
I do like James May, but I've never thought he's TopGear material. He's better of sticking to Magnificient Machines, he works best on his own. And Richard Hammond has to be one of the worst presenters in the history of television! I can't even think where he came from, but he's best of sticking to Total Wipeout... Because that can be watched in mute!
I definitely think the BBC need to wipe the slate (if they can), but it'll need a big re-hash, otherwise it's always going to be compared to how it was... Although I guess it is at the moment anyway
