No, seriously...
Why is it that a 5 day working week was decided on as being 'the norm'?
Where did that come from?
I assume there is more to it than because none of those 5 days start with an 'S' ?

I read some where that it used to be common that it was a 6 day working week but there was issues with what day to take off due to religion. Christians wanted Sunday off as that was Gods day but Jewish workers wanted Saturday off due to it being the Sabbath/Shavath. In the end business owners when "drokk it" and to please most people gave the weekend off.
No idea how true that is though.

An old friend of mine recalls the era of the 3 day week in the early '70's during the oil crisis. He reckons he got more done in a three day week in that period, than we do now in a 5 day week. For the real rationale for a 5 day working week, consult your local Trade Unionist, if you can still find one.
