Knew you'd got these, glad someone snapped them up - bargain! Ludey had an epic collection of parts and I do feel for him trying to shift it with lack of money injection for these cars.

Snap on the 6 pots, but damn on those front 8's.

Nice idea on the added handbrake piston, not seen those before, I looked at adding a hydraulic handbrake and a Rix handbrake cable attachment but it all looked like too much work. This was back when I thought I could reuse the old discs and legend calipers on the rear. Long gone to Ste and on again now! (Ste  ).

I notice from your comments that some of the bearings the guy 'couldn't find' for me aren't right for your engine / crank?

 I wondered how long it'd take

I'll send you a PM once I've sorted out a few things I need to shift ;-)

Why not consider a whole k24 engine, these motors with a K20 head make 250-260hp right out the gate. Couple that with a closer 6 speed box and you've got yourself one hell of a NA powerplant!

You've seen how much I've collected towards an NA H22 powerplant right?!

Wilwood Billet Spot Brakes and a few other bits

Post by NafemanNathan » Tue Jan 13, 2015 11:24 pm

In addition to the K-Sport brakes and in order to keep the car road legal (Must have a cable operated handbrake), these arrived today... Wilwood Billet Spot Brake Calipers...

Image

Image

They're a very simple 1-pot caliper that uses a cam type lever action, which in turn pushes a pin that pushes the pads...

Image

They're adjustable to suit various disc widths up to a maximum of 20.6mm by using or removing these spacers...

Image

However, my rear discs are a hefty 32mm thick, so in addition to the current spacers I'll need to add another 12mm spacing. The calipers come apart easily...

Image

So I'll take one of these to work tomorrow to copy and have profile cut out in 12mm steel before having them power-coated...

Image

I'll of course also need longer bolts too ;-)

I also had these arrive ages ago...

Mishimoto Silicone Coolant Hoses...

Image

Image

New Valve Cover Seal, because it was cheap :D ...

Image

And genuine Skunk2 weighted Gear Knob...

Image

Image

It's deceivingly weighty!

So those calipers are just for a handbrake, right? (no hydraulic part). So your rear brakes will have 2 calipers each, have I got that right?

Correct.

And I'm still toying with the idea of running the rear K-Sports through an additional hydraulic handbrake as well. I may never use it, but at least it's there if I do feel the urge.
