I too gave up on polishing lips, no idea how cebul did it.
I take it you acquired new bolts then or were your original ones in good nick? I was recommended this place http://www.titanium-touch.de/titanium_t ... dex_uk.htm but when I need 150 odd new ones it works out quite expensive!
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Re: Supercharged Mugen Lude (13/01/14 Update!)

I have all the bolts...for now. But they are infamous to shear off. I need to be very careful as they don't need much torque to do them up. So I may have to buy some extras if that was the case, but then they wouldn't have 'RAYS' on them to match the rest.

That method for polishing you can use your car jacked up in gear, but only particular rims work. My bolts protrude through the rim part so they'd get in the way on a built wheel to put on a car.
Good news is I think I've secured the set of nearly new original centre caps from a similar wheel - VolK Racing Group 3's. Won't have them for a while as they are coming from Japan. Looks like they just need a little Autosol to shine them up a little and then fit them - saves me some time on the current ones I have.

I do not have a photo of that mashine but it was something simmilar to wheel balancing mashine. Custom made shaft with big pulley, fitted to the frame on bearings, sigle phase engine on the bottom, belt and that is it. It is a lot easier/safer than doing this on jacked car, but people doing that this way as well and they got good results.RattyMcClelland wrote:NafemanNathan wrote:A jacked up car right?...RattyMcClelland wrote:Cebul had a retofitted spinning machine which the alloy bolted to and span on a motor and polished it as the wheel moved. No it looked like a custom old skool spindle machine.

I think my choice to powder coat may have saved me from a DIY accident of some form!
