Carbon fibre

After experimenting a little with carbon fibre under the bonnet I had decided that I wanted some on the outside of my car, mainly the bonnet and if I could find one a boot lid.

I was also think of having a vented bonnet to lower the intake temperatures a little but didn't want it to look to fast and furious. I eventually found the Vis Racing invader bonnet and I think the lines of the vent fit with the rest of the prelude.

I called Mad Motors who were the cheapest supplier at the time but he said they could offer me a cheaper one that would look identical so that's what I did. When it turned up and I unwrapped it looked nothing like the Vis invader and was the lines were curved and smooth nothing like the rest of a 5th gen. Anyway after many arguments over the phone they finally accepted to take it back and offer me a full refund. At this point I put the money aside and started saving so that I could order a genuine one from the states and get the boot lid at the same time.

Some months later they eventually turned up.

As you can see I also had a Greddy front splitter shipped at the same time so as to save on the postage. I was very pleased with the bonnet this time and much prefer this design to the fake one that Mad Motors had fobbed me off with.

After taking those photos on the drive I felt they didn't do the car justice so the next time the sun was out I took it for a proper photo shoot.

For some reason this is the only photo I can find from said photo shoot but IMO it was the best one anyway.

I'm going to leave that existing full car shot on the LOTM nominations if that's ok? ;-)

You get to choose which photo goes in the banner if you win anyway farlow, so you can get your own back on Nafe by using a different one then ;) :D

Not seen that bonnet before, does suit the lines really well and the fit looks great.

Damn you need to get this car to JAE (next year, if not this)!!!

I'm sorry to say that I have to agree with nafe with this one Gary. I think the bonnet doesn't suit the greedy lip. I think it would suit a wings West lipped lude better. Just wondered where to find one. :hurr:
