I know about this one but it's used only for climat control.
When I asked about I meant where other manufacturers installing they sensor for termometers. I heard renault put them into side mirror. Is it good idea or are there better places for it?

@Fons[DutchGuy]

I found it for you. They do two versions:
with OLED display which is a bit more expensive
http://allegro.pl/uniwersalny-komputer- ... 02836.html
and with standart display which doesn't mach prelude colour scheme
http://allegro.pl/ukp-zegarek-termometr ... 02999.html

Computer can be set in english/polish/german language, metric/empirial as well as welcome screen can be changed for custom one including simple graphics. Also as far as I know they offer some other customisation but you must try it with manufacturer.

Behind the front bumper is the usual place for external temp sensors on cars.

VTEC valve

Post by K30DPC » Thu Jan 16, 2014 3:33 pm

For some time it was so quiet here. I'm still busy buying parts for my build, and even more busy to get money for them. This is what I received last time.

Image

Most of it I had for some time already and I was only waiting for Password JDM bolts.
Image

All those parts are for VTEC valve which looks like this one. Nothing nice or special but it gives us so much fun and this beautiful sound.
Image

So let's begin. I striped it down to single bolt. Then I get confused. Not because of amount of parts but this
Image

New seal is totally different then the old one. It's thinner, also doesn't have strainer. So I took it back to honda dealer. The guy who always knew how to find parts for me gave up this time. This is the only one seal from honda which he was able to find. So I came back home and in desperation started to clean VTEC solenoid.
Image

Didn't really know what to do with seal I decided to give it a good clean and a bit of hondabond. I hope this will work. And after some time I ended with this. Sexi isn't it?
Image

As you can see still missing VTEC oil pressure switch. I didn't check it before and when I unwrapped old one I found it was damaged. If somebody have spare one I buy it

That does look pretty darn smart 8)

So does the OEM switch thread into it?

Now that is some cool attention to detail and a winning colour scheme.

And yes Nath, the OEM internals go into the SK2 unit.

Yes mate. Basicaly you have to use valve internals. Spring and them two pieces on the bottom of this pic
Image
Then to the side of it you bolt on oil pressure switch. Do not buy oring for it as there is no place for it. I used some teflon tape for plumbers job. Will see if it works.

Just think about it twice. Skunk2 using the same seal between head and VTEC valve so if you don't eally wanna blink blink look just replace seal instead of all unit.

Thanks to Jozefsan from Prelude Killer Garage ( he will kill me for it   ) I get my new used switch. He left me with this two goodies as well. Black JDM rear bumper which wasn't a must have on my list, but because of condition I decided to buy it

And.... TAAADAAAMMM

Shame it's only replica but who will know after it sits on a car. Just need a badge - anybody?

Did you ever figure out what was going on with 36172-P08-015?

Nice scoop on the Mugen bumper  I'm sure there are some envious people on here.
