JJT's Lude

Post by VTECVIKING » Thu May 26, 2016 10:22 am

Okay so started working on my lude doing the cheaper jobs daily and saving for the big'uns.
wanted to document for myself as well as you guys my little jobbies

Image

before I got the rotas

and haven't got any pictures but all the centre console was sprayed red and hacked up for a double din head unit so I sourced a healthy one from Dagenham

Image

took a extra bit of time to wire in amp properly as both remote wire and power wire were straight to battery (an old merc battery with screws to hold clips to terminals which unfortunately I don't have pick of but what a site.)

Image

sprayed my wiper arms black

Image

looking at a set of these http://www.tegiwaimports.com/select-car ... de-ba.html
to lower it next week as iv booked the week of to take some time on the car and test fit my 88-89 front bumper and fit coilovers

used my paint skills on how I want it too look haha Image

thanks for reading. looking for some advice on coilovers as I'm worried I'll buy the wrong ones

Nice looking Prelude.
Those alloys suit the car, keep with the retro look.

Not to sure on the coilovers for a 3rd gen but someone on here will know how to advise.

Some nice progress there.
Stuff like the dash must make a massive difference to every time you use the car!

There isn't a huge choice of coilovers for 3rd gens as you've probably noticed. I had a set of BC's on my 3rd gen which were great. I got them cheap which was great, but if I was paying RRP I'd probably be tempted with Yellow Speed. They seem to get very good reviews where as there are a few sets of BC's on the forum that are knocking (although none on 3rd gens).

Another option is GAZ. They custom make them and they are quality. The price is also competitive with the likes of BC/D2/Yellow Speed. You'll have to give them a call, but you won't have them in time for next week, unless you're lucky ;)

cheers for the advice, I took the plunge on some yellow speed from teg, hopefully have them by Monday.

il put some pic of the original centre console up later. some people like it but didn't do a lot for me. and couldnt get my head unit to secure safely in the centre console.

plan is to spray the manifold heat sync/cover tonight. there isn't anything I need to worry about in terms of how that fits on? simply bolt off bolt on apart from the hose?

Go spray some penetrating oil on the bolts now if you can.
