4WS reset
Hi
Before you go 2WS you might like to try this. I have an intermittant fault on my 4WS. I can reset the system which then behaves normally for usually around couple of months.
Under the bonnet at the back left there is a fuse box. Remove the cover and take out the 10 amp red fuse which is in the middle of the back row for 5 about seconds. Replace - fingers crossed - you might be lucky.
You might have to reset your clock.
I'm in Maidstone too.

Welcome to the club mate
You may not know much about Preludes at the moment, but I can assure you'll have the bug with a couple of months and then before you know it, with this forum's help you'll know pretty much everything!
With regards to the previous owner, I don't recognise his actual name, but then I don't know half the real names of people on this forum and I'm been on the lude forums for 6/7 years!
If you're still in contact with him though, find out which if any of the forums he was on and what his username was. We won't have any trouble finding all of his posts then

Re: Newbie in Maidstone
Hi Guys, thanks for the Welcomes. I said I didn't get on here very often but I wasn't expecting it to be 6 months. Had some jobby going on but finally got the Prelude on the road.
It has four new tyres and battery, goes like a rocket and sounds really nice. It has after market suspension and handles like a go-kart.
It still has a 4WS problem though. Is it the suspension? The 4WS system works, it resets, but the light comes on soon in to the journey. I believe there are lights on the computer that tell you what the problem is but I'm struggling to get the backseat to drop down.
We're off to the Nurgurgring at the end of May so could do with getting it sorted. All advice greatly appreciated.
The cruise control doesn't work nor does the trip/odometer. Fuse?
I tried to put some pics on the site but didn't have much luck, will try again.
Cheers, Pete.
By the way. We have a spare twin room booked at the 'Ring for 29th May for three nights if anyones interested. As I'm not on the pooter very often you can get me on 07719001336

Hi there @happyclappy, don't know how I missed your joining the forum!!! Welcome, glad you found us.
The 4ws system flashes the codes to lights on the dashboard rather than on the ECU, so there's no need to get the back seats down.
Behind where the radio sits in the centre console there's a 2-pin blue plug (not connected to anything), which is the service connector. You should be able to find it by looking up behind the centre console from the drivers side footwell.
Jump the connector and turn the ignition on. The ABS, 4WS and engine ECU lights will flash any faults at you.
If you have a read of the section in the service manual, it'll tell you what to watch for on the lights in better detail (and then a list of what each code is). The service manual is here;
http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/wiki/in ... ce_Manuals
You just need the main service manual not the supplements for what you want.
Have a look see what you can find and let us know what it tells you?
