Hi all, i own a 5th Gen, 2.0, Motegi edition and love it! My 1st Prelude. The car is all standard and in a great condition, i am interested in maybe doing a few simple things to it, like maybe a short shifter but over all i'm weary about messing about with such a nice car in a nice condition, dont wonna mess with it to much but do love the look of a modded lude!
One thing i wanted to ask... I recently wanted to get new calipers, so i ordered them through my local parts dealer, the supposedly correct calliper for the car arrived but wouldn't fit, so we tried another... Same again... Ended up having to send the old ones away to be refurbished. I was told this was because the car is an import, is this true and does anyone else have this problem when getting new calipers? Any info would be great for future reference.
Any how, here's a few pics :-)
Toby.

Id be surprised if it's an import! You have uk bumpers and uk motegi kit.
I think whoever ordered the bits maybe ordering wrong bits..

Yeah i was suprised as nothing else seemed to suggest it was an import! Strange thing is the parts were oredered using the registration so dont understand how they could be wrong.... My mechanic said that basicly the "neck" of the caliper was too thick... The bit bridging over the two pads and disk.

Hi and welcome!

I didn't even think there was a difference in calipers..
He must have ordered the wrong part.

Anyway, very nice car dude! looks very clean.
Hope you get it sorted soon and enjoy the Lude and this forum!

Hey thanks mate! problem is sorted now, just had to send the old caliper away to be refurbished and wait a week for a simple job to be done! Was a pain in the arse haha. The other odd thing is that the old and new numbers on the caliper matched! But there was definitely a slight difference in thickness in that "bridge" bit. You're right tho, somehow it must have been the wrong part.
Thanks tho man, i do love this car!

Welcome.
Car looks in great nick..
Which caliper was it? The rear calipers are the same on all 4th and 5th gen preludes so if they got the wrong one there, they have really cocked something up.
The front calipers on 2.0 ludes are different to vtec (2.2) ludes but are the same on 4th and 5th gen 2.0's.

I'm not following what you mean by "bridge bit being too thick", but at a guess I'd say it was likely they supplied you with 2.2 Vtec front calipers. Either way it's all sorted now and at least you can say it's all still original :)

Also I didn't know there was a Motegi edition 2.0l! Or has the kit just been added afterwards?

Oh, Welcome to the club by the way :D
