CA5 Accord Aerodeck - new but not new

Post by becca » Sun Oct 06, 2013 2:10 pm

Hi! Joined a while ago but have never got round to posting. Heard this was the place to go for a 3rd gen Accord as 3geez is predominantly US!

Bought my 'Deck in April and it's been sitting since waiting for parts so I can get it exactly how I want it before it's on the road. It's possibly the earliest Aerodeck left in the UK, 1985 carb, and a manual. 44k miles from new - interior still had a few plastic stickers on parts from dealer!

I've since persuaded the other half to buy a spare/daily [while he saves up for a Euro R] so I can have parts off it... I needed wings - and they're impossible to find! Guy in US wanted £220 plus shipping and tax for a pair! So better option was to get a £500 auto heap of crap and nick the wings off it as they were undersealed from factory and in better condition than mine! Colour coded bumpers will be going on mine too.

Loads of plans for this, but I don't want to rush anything - hoping to have it welded, resprayed, on coilovers and wheels by February [optimistic...?]

About time Becca!! Welcome to the madhouse. Wurly, I already know Becca, you know it doesn't take me long to know people in the car scene, especially around Hondas and trikes.

I'm looking to forwards to seeing it done. Don't think feb is too optimistic. I'm getting mine done next summer when there's space in the yard for the resto and respray.

You better be taking one of the decks to Mimms :D

Don't forget there's a CA5 saloon lurking around on here as well ;)

Welcome along Becca, good to see another 3rd gen Accord! I do like the Aerodecks, they're good looking motors.

Yeah took me long enough to find one too! :P

Already chosen my first set of wheels for it, just need to check the offset as I'm unsure on exact numbers but it's pretty low, should fit though... If I could fit et13 6j on my polo breadvan rears I can sure as hell fit something mental on an aerodeck :P

Can't wait to get into it and drive though... Still stuck with my first car right now - 5 years on and still in a 1ltr, it's killer!

Hey Becca. Glad to see you've crawled out into the lime light. Looking forward to seeing what you've got planned for her.

I've had those adjustable rear arms removed for you for a while now. Just need to dust them off, but they're ready for you whenever you want them.

The rest of my Aerodeck is off to the scrappy this week hopefully, but I've removed a fair amount of bits 'n' bobs, so if you need anything in the future, give me a shout ;-)

You should get some photos of the spare-o-deck loaded up!

We definitely need to get a line up at Mimms, will be awesome :D

Can't understand how you've managed to stay in a 1L motor for so long. I've never owned anything smaller than a 1.6 other than my trikes, and that was too small an engine for me

Nathan, I still haven't got round to fitting the carb conversion on Marvin.

Keep the black bumper, it gives the car that cool retro look imo :geek:
