If I die I'll not be using them again4thgenphil wrote:serious question though, can i have dibs on your suspension and brakes if you die?

Whats that, the suspension? They retail for £1700 but I got a fair whack off through a sponsorship deal and usage feedbackNafemanNathan wrote:Have you released how much they set you back Allister?

£90 for 37kg. Yes it is on the expensive side (£2.43/Kg) , especially when you compare it to the 50Kg of disc weights that are going in the boot (£1.56/Kg). The lead is the correct size, once flattened and folded, to fit nicely under the passenger seatDonald wrote:That's expensive ballast surely? Used to find similar rolls all the time at work and the scrappy paid a good price

So those weights + and fixings + my passenger seat and its rails (17kg) will give me around 100Kg extra weight compared to my race weight last year, which is roughly an average passenger as well as the seat itself. Also the new total weight of the car (1320kg) is the weight of a normal 4th gen with an average weight driver. It may seem like I am putting loads of weight into the car, I am

Yep, this would be my bet, definitely.Merlin wrote:I am pretty sure I wont have to resort to wiring them. I have a had problems with alloy bits before, wheel nuts. They contract and expand too much with heat. So far I have never had problems with removing forged steel wheel nuts. I hope the same principal works for the forged steel flywheel.

Super Secret 1G (not really super secret!)
Just crazy to see you actually spend money on putting in weight!
and its more expensive!
The flatfloors are great and If you use a thick alu plate It will also put extra weight on, and were you want it! as low as possible.
Are baffled watertanks not an option? so you can drain them when not needed?

Re: Merlin's 4G Time Attack Lude
Its only £170 and it will allow me to drop into the class below where the majority of cars are FWD NA. I'm making it so that the weight can be removed in a few minutes. I'm bolting it to the chassis.gb-lude wrote:Just crazy to see you actually spend money on putting in weight!
I couldn't get the weight in the size I wanted if I went with code 3. The space between the passenger seat rails is 13" so the max width lead I can get is 12".Vtecmec wrote:Can't believe you went with code 4, code 3 is quite a bit cheaper.

Its looking a bit more like it should now. Although we couldn't figure out how to get the rear of the car to go any lower
